Zachary Lennon Thomas, 40, of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington.
Zachary was born on July 29, 1982 in Dixon, Illinois. He attended Dixon schools for most of his early years. He graduated high school from Elkhorn High School in Elkhorn, Nebraska. He attended Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska and Harold Washington University in Chicago.
Zachary worked for many years at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, first as a CME runner, then a CME clerk and finally as CBOT Filling Broker. He worked a few years as an insurance agent for PGM in Bloomington IL.
Zachary skied the black trails of the Colorado mountains with friends and he had a natural golf swing that made golfing fun. He enjoyed listening to the Killers band, attending games at Wrigley Field (and sometimes enjoyed the Cubs), and most of all watching Indy car and Formula 1 racing, in particular the red Ferrari's. He was a movie buff with a knack for remembering movie scenes and dialog. Zachary was a loyal friend and kept in touch with high school and work mates throughout the years.
He is survived by his parents, Deborah Boyenga-Thomas and George Thomas of Metamora, sister, Tammy Cloutier of Copper Harbor, MI, grandmother, Joan Sheridan of Dixon, IL, and an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
