WASHINGTON?William Jake King, 73, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 1:45 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. Jake was born on September 11, 1939 in Jakin, Georgia to Bernie and Lennie (Marlowe) King. Jake married Mary McKenna on October 20, 1962 in Peoria, just celebrating their 50th anniversary last year. Mary survives. Also surviving are their two children, Stacy Lynn King of San Juan Capistrano, California and Todd (Trisha) King of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren, McKenna, Madison and Sam King; two brothers, Jack (Callie) King of Buckhead, Georgia and Gene (Linda) King of Yardley, Pennsylvania and Jake?s mother-in-law, Claretta McKenna of Washington. Jake retired from Caterpillar, last working in Mossville as a supervisor in the maintenance department, but he had worked at other Caterpillar facilities in the Peoria area. He had also completed the Caterpillar apprenticeship program. Prior to working for Caterpillar Jake had served in the U. S. Army in Germany. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Peoria, the Izaac Walton League in Metamora, Wilmore Sportsman?s Club in Morton and the Masonic Lodge. Jake enjoyed fishing and golfing and loved to travel. For many years Mary and Jake spent time at their second home in Greers Fairy Lake, Arkansas. Funeral services for Jake will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Tibbetts officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and also one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Memorials for Jake may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.
