Winifred S. Schaer

Winifred S. Schaer, 98, of Spring Bay passed away peacefully on March 27, 2012 at Morton Villa Care Center in Morton, Illinois. She was born on March 17, 1914 in Overton, NE the daughter of Frank and Ethel Smith Woodward. She married William Schaer on June 12, 1946 in Overton, NE. He died on Sept 25, 2002 She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and one sister Surviving is one son Albert Schaer of Spring Bay. She was a homemaker and a member of Rivers Edge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay, where she was a former Sunday school teacher for over 20 years. She was a lifetime member of Spring Bay American Legion Post 1115 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of United States Izaak Walton Conservation League. Enjoyments in her life were to travel, as well as plants and gardening. Services will be 11am on Friday April 6th at her church with Rev. Dr. Joe Richard officiating. Visitation will be from 4pm until 6pm Thursday Apr. 5th at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay. Memorials in her name are encouraged to be given to her church or to her son Albert, for ongoing medical treatments.
