Wilma Jean Bailey

WASHINGTON?Wilma J. Bailey, 81, of Washington, passed away at 11:52 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Washington Christian Village. She was born on February 20, 1930 in Vermillion County, Indiana to Oscel and Druscilla Burton Lowe. Wilma married Murl Carty in Clinton, Indiana in February,1947. He passed away in December 1955. Among those surviving is one son, Joseph Carty of Minneapolis; one daughter, Mary Lee of East Peoria; three sisters, Jennie Johnson of Orlando, FL, Mary (Clinton) Britnell of Washington and Judy Lewis of Bloomington; one brother, James (Carla) Lowe of Lebanon, MO; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Wilma was also preceded in death by one son, Christopher Carty and one brother, Drew Lowe. Wilma was retired from the National Research Laboratory in Peoria where she had worked as a statistician for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services for Wilma will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with the church elders officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association.
