William David Fenner

William David Fenner, 76, of Metamora passed away peacefully at 2:00pm on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Snyder Village, Metamora, IL. He was born November 26, 1937 in Clinton, IL a son of Earl and Gwendolyn Fenner. He married Marilyn Wantland on May 24, 1959. He later married Carolyn Latham on June 24, 1983. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2010. Surviving are his children, Mark (Ranae) Fenner of Bluegrass, IA, Lisa (Mark) Schmidgall, of Roanoke, IL, Mike Fenner of St. Augustine, FL and one step-daughter DeAngela (Matthew) Kimbro of Metamora, IL. He had fourteen grandchildren, Nyles Fenner, Syd Fenner, Isabel Fenner, Ashley (Schmidgall) Schieber, Emily (Schmidgall) Getz, Lilly (Schmidgall) Hoerr, Zachary Schmidgall, Ivy Schmidgall, Christopher Fenner, Courtney Fenner, Carolyn Kimbro, Darrell Kimbro, Sarah Kimbro, Rebecca Kimbro. He also had 3 great grandchildren, with 2 more great grandchildren on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Earl and Richard, and step-son Darrell Leininger. Bill graduated from Clinton High School in 1956. He worked for Caterpillar for 39 years retiring in 1996. He loved to fish and to spend time with family and friends. He also dedicated a lot of time to Bible Study. He was a man of great faith, who loved the Lord. Bill fought his cancer battle with great strength and determination. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, August 22, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home, Metamora, IL. Pastor Gary Salm, of Christian Union Church will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Metamora, IL immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Illinois Cancer Care or St. Jude. Mason Funeral Home in Metamora is assisting the family with arrangements. Notes of condolences maybe sent using www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
