William John Crisler

William John Crisler, 81, of Germantown Hills, IL passed away at 11:43 am on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Eureka, IL.

He was born on December 4, 1941, in Peoria, IL, to William H. and Alice E. (LaKemper) Crisler. He married Shiela L. Bevard on August 3, 1963, in East Peoria, IL.

Surviving are his wife, Shiela of Germantown Hills; children, Bambi (Tim) Spangler of Mount Ida, Arkansas, William (Rachel) Crisler II of East Peoria, and Cord (Susan) Crisler of Germantown Hills; grandchildren, Daily Spangler, Sam Spangler, William Crisler III, Joseph Crisler, and Nicolo Crisler; step-father, Nicolo Pisano of Germantown Hills; brother, Steve (Marilyn) Crisler of Washington; and sister, Sally Gillespie of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.

John graduated from East Peoria High School in 1960. He was a retired millwright of 32 years from Caterpillar. In retirement, John and Shiela enjoyed traveling throughout the states. John could be found rooting on his beloved Chicago Bears, enjoying time on the golf course with his brother, or reading one of many different western or military crime novels. He had a great love of classic cars and was an avid history buff.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Pastor Joe Ballard officiating. Visitation to be held at 4:00 pm until time of his service, also on Monday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
