William R. "Bill" Landis

William R. "Bill" Landis, 75, of Peoria, IL passed away at 8:35 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. He was born on May 16, 1940 in Peoria, IL to William Hunter and Lena Elizabeth (Berner) Landis. He married Sharon T. Schneider. She survives. Also surviving are children Debbie (Mike) Whetstone and Rick (Kathy) Landis both of Peoria, Jan (Ed) Boley of East Peoria, and Diane (Paul) Landis-Weber of Chillicothe; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother Charles Landis of Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He most recently had worked at Bensons Automotive. He loved spending time in the afternoon with his friends at the coffee shop. Bill was a loving grandfather. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Father David Richardson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery, Metamora. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
