William E. "Bill" Bardwell, Jr

William E. "Bill" Bardwell, Jr., 78, of Metamora, IL passed away at 12:55 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on January 31, 1938 in Tutwiler, Mississippi to William E. and Ruby Lee (Mitchell) Bardwell, Sr. He married Shirley J. Winkle on February 3, 1962 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She survives. Also surviving are his daughter Hope E. (James) Duncan of Germantown, WI; grandchildren Cassandra Duncan, Luke Duncan, Ian Bardwell, and Hayden Bardwell; and great-grandson Cooper Lisicki. He was preceded in death by his parents, son and daughter-in-law Michael (Dr. Susan) Bardwell, five brothers, and two sisters. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a traffic coordinator for Caterpillar for 37 years. He enjoyed his years working at Caterpillar along with working in his yard. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved cars. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a big heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. No services will be held. Cremation rites will be accorded.
