William E. Arnold

William E. Arnold, 85, of Peoria passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria, IL.

Bill was born July 10, 1932, in Peoria son of William and Mabel Zimmerman Arnold. He married Bonnie Eoff on May 20, 1960 in Peoria. She passed away on April 14, 2015. Also preceding him in death was a sister Marilyn Clark and one nephew Arnold Clark.

Surviving are two sons Doug (Kristy Rashid) Arnold of West Peoria, Scott (Nastasya) Arnold of Phoenix, AZ and one daughter Madelon (Brian Griswold) Ott of Peoria. Further surviving are his grandchildren Haley Arnold, Blake Arnold, Ashley, Alexandra, Jeremy and Michael Brooks.

He attended Kingman Grade School and then graduated Woodruff High School in 1950. Playing baseball in highschool, legend has it he threw three no hitters. In 1952 he was drafted into the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict, and honorably discharged 1956. Bill then attended Bradley University earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and later earned his Master's Degree in Economics from Alexander Hamilton Institute in NYC.

Bill, known as the "cookie man", worked 32 years for Nabisco retiring in 1990. He then worked for Pillsbury Company for 9 years retiring in 1999. Bill had many hobbies including riding his bicycle, tennis, gardening, reading, collecting wine and traveling. A highlight for Bill, was to be a part of the Greater Peoria Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in May, 2017, accompanied by his son Doug.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate his life will be Monday, February 12, 2018, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Mason-White Funeral in Washington. Memorials may be given to Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PAWS).
