Wilbur Barry

Wilbur L. Barry, 88, of Washington, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on April 11, 1937, in Hartsburg, IL, to Leo and Marie Hummels Barry. He married Karen Waughop on August 8, 1982, in Peoria; she passed away on March 26, 2001, in Washington. Wilbur was also preceded in death by two stepsons, Ken Smith and Robert Smith.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Gottwald of Peoria and Debbie Hagendorn of Springfield, IL, and one stepdaughter, Nicolette Johnson, along with several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Further surviving are one brother Bruce Barry of Mendota Springs, MN.

Wilbur worked as a carpenter for most of his life, with his last position at Tom McClintick Construction.

A funeral service will be held 11 am on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to charity of the donors choice.
