Wendy Kay (Hill) Young

Wendy Kay (Hill) Young, 61, of Metamora, Illinois, passed away at 12:25 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

She was born to Robert K. and Rosalyn (Cook) Hill on June 11, 1961, Peoria, IL.

Wendy graduated from Metamora High School in 1979. She married Terry Young on June 13, 1981 in Metamora, IL. They were blessed with a daughter, Tara.

She loved her family, friends, children of all ages, and all animals. Wendy loved to babysit for family and friends. She was a homemaker. Wendy was passionate about tracing her family roots and she even published a book about her lineage. Wendy liked to travel and enjoyed swimming, fishing, campfires, parties, and everything to do with life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Terry of Metamora; their daughter, Tara Young; mother, Rosalyn and father, Robert, both of Metamora; three brothers, Greg (Lynne) Hill and Gary (Lisa) Hill both of Washington, IL, and Kevin (Colette) Hill of Mackinaw, IL; one sister, Angie Sassine of Peoria, IL; seven nephews; seven nieces; five great-nieces; and four great-nephews, who was all deeply beloved. She was preceded by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora.
