Wayne Dingledine

April 30, 1923 — March 10, 2012

Wayne "Butch" Dingledine, 88, of Washington passed away on Saturday March 10, 2012 at Advocate Eureka Hospital, Eureka, Illinois. Wayne was born on April 30, 1923 in Peoria the son of Harvey and Barbara Strubhar Dingledine. He married Mary "Maxine" Keith on September 5, 1946 in Peoria. She passed away on June 8, 2011. 2 brothers, Dick and Ron also preceded him in death as well as one granddaughter Michelle Donecker. Surviving are two daughters, Carol (widow of Brent) Donecker and Joyce (Dingledine) Pacey, both of Washington; four sons, Dennis (Connie) Dingledine, David (Ellen) Dingledine, Dean (Denise) Dingledine and Donald Dingledine, all of Washington. Also surviving 15 grandchidren, 14 great grandchildren as well as one sister Ruth Eichhorn of Eureka. He was a WWII Us Army Veteran serving in both the European and Pacific theaters in the Engineers before being honorably discharged in January of 1946. He worked for Prairie Farms Dairy for 38 years before retiring in 1985. A special thank you from Wayne and the family, to the staff of Advocate Eureka Hospital especially Iva, Ginger and Laura and the girls in the clinic. He was a member of Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church in Washington, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Sistrunk officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington with Military Rites being conducted by the Tazewell County Military Rites Team. Visitation for Wayne will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home and from 10 to 10:45 on Wednesday at the church. Memorials for him may be made to either his church or Shriner?s Hospital in Chicago.
