Walter Chave Sr

PEORIA-Walter F. Chave, 95, of Peoria passed away at 6:49pm Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Heights Health Care Center in Peoria. He was born on March 1, 1921 in Peoria Heights, the son of Howard and Della Poetter Chave. He married Anna Marie Ulgar in Detroit, MI on May 12, 1945. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, two sons Walter F. (Ralene) Chave Jr. of Pekin and Robert M. (Fay) Chave of Washington. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. His parents, two brothers and four sisters proceeded in death. Walter proudly served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He then worked and retired from WABCO in Peoria and was a charter member of the former First United Brethren Church. Graveside services will be held 1pm, Friday, July 29, 2016 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
