Walter Carter Nunnally II, 64, of Washburn, IL, passed away at 7:17 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
He was born on December 16, 1960, in Montgomery, AL, to Walter Carter I and Peggy S. (Tucker) Nunnally. He married Melinda S. Ulrich on July 1, 1994 in Groveland, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Melinda of Washburn; children, Katie, Alyssa, Meaghan, Steven, Christopher, Stephanie (Skyler), Jonathon, Heather, and Kaden (Victoria); grandchildren, Brianna, Kylee, Cheyenne, Abigail, Chloe, Aidan, Jace, and Peyton; and brother, Michael (Susan). He was preceded in death by his parents.
Walt's love for the Lord impacted every aspect of his life including his career. He spent years as a youth pastor and eventually the Lord placed him in Washington and Morton high schools as a "secret agent" (Walt's words). His faith impacted every interaction he had with students and staff, and unbeknownst to them, they were being ministered to. He also loved his work in private practice and with military service members and that he was able to help others live for Jesus.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Living Faith Fellowship in Eureka, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pathway Ministries, 601 SW Adams Street, Peoria, IL 61602 or NAMI Tri-County Illinois, a national alliance on mental illness, 6310 North University Street, Peoria, IL 61614.
