Virginia M. Stickelmaier

Virginia M. Stickelmaier, 98, of Metamora, IL passed away at 1:28 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL. She was born on July 6, 1918 in Washington, IL to Lester and Viola (Wagner) Risser. She married Jerome G. Stickelmaier on June 15, 1946 in Metamora, IL. He passed away on January 3, 1988. Surviving are her three daughters Suzanne (Clark Jones) Schierer of Germantown Hills, IL, Rebecca (Charles) Scarborough of Vista, CA, and Joan (Calvin) Coolidge of Lake Frederick, VA; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Jennifer Schierer and brother Ralph Risser. Virginia worked at the FBI in Washington, D.C. during World War II. She had been a school teacher, retiring after 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora and the Metamora Woman's Club. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora.
