Virginia Bridwell

WASHINGTON?Virginia E. Bridwell, 86, formerly of Washington, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at her home in Eureka. Virginia was born on December 9, 1928 in Carbondale to Charlie and Nannie (Smart) Johnson. She married Laverne Bridwell in Murphysboro, Illinois on October 39, 1946. Laverne passed away in 1981. Among those surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Krus of Pekin and Debra (Joseph) Smith of Washington; one son, George Bridwell of Sunnyland and eight grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jimmie and Clarence, three brothers and one sister. Virginia had worked many years as a nurses aid in the Washington area. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements.
