Surviving is one daughter Frances E. (Richard C.) Schofield of Peoria. Grandchildren David Schofield of Peoria, Julie Schofield of Chillicothe, and great grandchildren Lindsay, Joshua, and Austen Manley. One sister Carol Robbins of Peoria. Preceded in death by one grandson James Schofield and one brother Wayne Pollock. Vernon served in the Army Tank Corps during WWII, and was in Mechanical Maintenance at CILCO for 32 years retiring in 1982. Vernon was a member of Blue Lakes Fishing Club in Canton. He loved camping and meetings with the coffee crew at the Metamora McDonalds. Vernon was a Jack of all Trades and was of the Christian Faith. Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday May 25, 2010 at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Reverend Gary Salm officiaiting. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral Home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Emergency 116 and or Snyder Village. Online condolences www.masonfuneralhomes.com
