WASHINGTON?Vernon Lee Crutchley, 82, of Washington, passed away at 7:05 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his home. Vernon was born on November 10, 1930 in McLean, Illinois to Walter and Dovie (Kindred) Crutchley. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Jean Sale Crutchley, they were married in Washington on May 5, 1962. Also surviving are three daughters, Suzanne Murphy of Peoria, Karen (Keith) Rowell of Canton and Jenny Crutchley of Washington; two brothers, Elmer Crutchley of Peoria and Arlie (Carol) Crutchley of New Mexico; two sisters, Helen Breweur of Peoria and Carita Boyd of Belvidere; four grandchildren, Megan, Amber, Ian and Christopher and three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Alek and Rylie. He was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Ella; two brothers and two sisters. Vernon served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during the Korean War. Following the war, Vernon worked for Georgia-Pacific in East Peoria as a delivery driver then retired from Handy Andy where he had worked in the lumber yard. Vernon was a member of Teamsters Local #627 in Peoria. He truly enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his great grandson, Wyatt. For many years he was in a bowling league in Peoria. In accordance with Vernon?s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting family in arrangements.
