Velda L. Garber, 89, of Washington, IL passed away at 2:20 pm on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL with her beloved husband by her side.  She was born on April 2, 1929 in El Paso, IL to Hartzell and Irene (Hitch) Barnes.  She married Leslie "Les" Garber on September 14, 1947 in Metamora, IL.  He survives.

Also surviving are daughters Carol J. Wenger of Washington, Joanne K. Garber of Metamora, and Diana M. Garber-Salvador of Satellite Beach, FL; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Velda had worked in the parts department at Caterpillar Tractor Company for ten years.  She loved flowers, her bird collection, listening to music, and traveling.  She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria for 42 years.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend John Hopwood officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Grace Presbyterian Church, 8607 State Route 91, Peoria, IL 61615 or OSF Hospice, 2265 West Altorfer Drive, Peoria, IL 61615.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
