Tod W. Crandall, 67, of Morton, passed away at 8:30pm Saturday, November 11, 2017, at his residence with his wife and his dog Lola by his side.
He was born on September 20, 1950 in Eaton Rapids, MI, son of the late Douglas and Leona Crandall. He married Susan P. Gard on March 4, 1988 in Westminster, CO.
Surviving are his wife, one son Joshua Crandall and one daughter Elizabeth Crandall both of Colorado along with three grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters Sue Chinavare of Michigan and Phyllis Crandall of Colorado along with one brother Tim Crandall of California.
Tod was a retired law enforcement officer. He spent nearly 30 years on the job, both domestically and internationally. In Colorado, he served in uniform and as a detective. In Europe, he worked in war torn Bosnia as an International Police Monitor and then with the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague as an investigator of war crimes in the former Yugoslavia. He spent two years in police development with the national police of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. For his overseas work, Tod received three Presidential Citations and a United Nations In Service of Peace Medal.
Tod was proud to have written an adventure novel called "Tenacity." He enjoyed being a published author on Amazon. He had plans for two more novels and had started them but was unable to finish. He had an amazing love of history and always excited about researching the Crandall genealogy. A man from Colorado at heart, he loved the mountains and was an avid Colorado Rockies Fan.
