Terry L. Klein

August 6, 1947 — November 6, 2015

WASHINGTON... Terry L. Klein, 68, of Washington, passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria at 12:26 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2015. Terry was born August 6, 1947 in Peoria to Wesley (Wes) and Dolores Noll Klein. Terry and Joyce Rich married in Peoria, September 7, 1999. His wife Joyce survives but Terry will always be in mind and spirit. Terry has two surviving children, Dawn Klein of Conifer, Colorado and Sean (Ria) Klein of Raleigh, N.C.; two step-sons, Larry (Laurie) Whobrey II of Melbourne, FL and Sean Whobrey of Washington and five grandchildren, Thorne and Gage Schmitgall, Sunni and Trey Whobrey, and Madalyn Anderson. Terry had been an engineer and retired from Komatsu after 30 years of service. Prior to Komatsu he also worked several years for Caterpillar. Terry was proud to serve his country and was a Viet Nam veteran. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a crew chief mechanic on the C130 Hercules transporting equipment and taking the boys home. Terry graduated from ICC where he had earned his associates degree in industrial engineering. He had been a member of the Metamora American Legion. He was a member of St. Pat's Catholic Church in Washington and formerly St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora. Terry was a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan and loved his Chicago Cubs. Terry played softball for many years in various leagues in the Peoria area. Terry's passion were his children, his dog Chloe, his garage as well as his family. He was extremely proud of his decorating ability in his garage with an abundance of 30 packs of beer. Terry's wish was to be with his father, Wesley Klein, in heaven. Being together again with his dad at his side would be fun working on cars deciding who could do the job better. Terry's long time wish has come true to reunite with Wesley (dad) and not be nailed to the big oak tree behind the house.... all an inside understanding between Wes and and 'T'. Visitation for Terry will be on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora. Military rites will be accorded at the end of visitation. Following, cocktails will be at Kep's Place in Washington to continue 'T's' celebration of life. Memorials for Terry may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project. Online condolences to the family may be made at masonfuneralhomes.com
