Steven A. Morris

Steven A. Morris, 61, beloved father, brother and friend, passed away in his home Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in Rome, IL. due to complications from recent illnesses.

Steve was born on May 25, 1957 in Elgin IL. son of Clifford and Carolee (Burgess) Morris. He is survived by one son Baylen Morris of Peoria Heights, IL; two daughters, Ashleigh Morris and Shelby Davis-Morris both of Peoria, IL. Also surviving are one brother, Scott Morris of Creve Coeur, IL, one niece, BriAnna Morris and one nephew, Jared Morris along with Steve"s beloved cockatoo Jazzy. One daughter, Hannah Morris, his parents and one brother David Morris preceded him in death.

Steve loved many things but his biggest passion was boating and making people laugh. He had worked many jobs over his life time. Among them being Tuffy Muffler, Risinger Trucking and C-Way Fabricators. He was also a volunteer fireman for 5 years in Chillicothe IL. After early retirement he found another passion beside boating, karaoke. That is how he became Captain Steve or Jiggy Steve to many. He often talked about all the people he has met doing this. He loved it so much that he had entertained many up until his last day on earth.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Galena Park Baptist Church, located at 5831 N. Galena Road in Peoria Heights. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:30 p.m. Pastor Larry Johnson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a donation box will be at the church to assist his children with expenses.
