Stephen Ray Paddock, of Morton, IL, formerly of Crest Hill, IL, died Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, IL.

Steve was born on February 4, 1941, in Peoria, IL, to Raymond and Frances Neill Paddock. He married Janet Bedore on June 24, 2000. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his wife and granddaughter, Alicia Ferrell.

Survivors include two children, Stephen (Anita) Paddock and Sheila (Billy) Tite; two stepchildren, Michele (Phil) Hughes and Todd (Laura) Bedore; one brother, David (Anne) Paddock; one sister, Ann (Richard) Stinson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Bushnell-Prairie City High School and attended Lincoln College and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1965. He worked for General Motors for over 35 years.

He was a member of Community Christian Church in Plainfield, IL. Steve was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed playing Bingo with a group of friends in Crest Hill.

A graveside military service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
