Stanley L. Pelz

Stanley L. "Stan" Pelz age 81 of Washburn, Illinois passed away at 6:55am Monday August 1, 2011 at Snyder Village in Metamora, Illinois. He was born Sept. 10, 1929 in Peoria, Il to Chris E. and Ema L. (Loscher) Pelz. He married Doris I. Laible on March 11, 1951 in Washburn, IL. She survives. Surviving are two daughters Sue (Chuck) Tanton of Metamora, and Debbie (Dan) Phillips of Muskegon, MI. Grandchildren; Becca (Justin) Herrmann of Bay View Gardens, IL, Carrie (Garrett) Ringness of Peoria, Laura (Scott Vollmer) Tanton of Washington, IL and one great grandson Jacob Herrmann. Stan is also survived by one brother Curtis (Georgia Ann) Pelz of Washburn, and one sister Nancee McClanahan of Toluca, IL. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Stan was Korean War Army Veteran and a life long farmer. He was Road Commissioner for Cazenovia Twp. for 20 years. Member of Woodford Count Farm Bureau, Washburn American Legion and Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with his Family, grandchildren, and great grandson. Services will be at 11:00am Thursday August 4, 2011 at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Douglas Lightly officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Linn Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washburn.
