Shirlie A. Stark

Shirlie A. Stark, 96, of Washington, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Reflections Memory Care in Washington, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 13, 1927, in Fresno, CA, the daughter of William and Julia Espinosa Franklin.

Two sons, David (Debra) Stark of Washington and Terry Stark, survive. Five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. One son, Paul V. Stark Jr., preceded her in death.

Shirlie's career at Caterpillar Tractor Company was marked by her dedication and hard work in the dietary department. Shirlie was a member of Crossroads Global Methodist Church in Washington.

Shirlie's interests painted the picture of a woman who relished life's simple pleasures. She was a familiar face at the local Hardee's, where she would indulge in her love for coffee and share stories with friends. Her laughter often filled the air during these lively gossip sessions, a testament to the joy she found in companionship.

A lover of documentaries, Shirlie possessed an insatiable curiosity about the world and its many wonders. Her fondness for animals showcased her gentle and caring nature, a trait that endeared her to all living creatures.

Her baking was legendary, and her pies were a testament to her skill. Above all, Shirlie's heart belonged to her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow, imparting wisdom and love equally.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Crossroads Global Methodist Church. Pastor Jason Woolever will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Inurnment will take place at the Crossroads Global Methodist Church Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Association. Mason-White Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
