Shirley Evelyn Wright

Shirley Evelyn Wright 88, of Metamora, Illinois died at 4:30 am Monday Feb. 4, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Roanoke, IL. She was born Sept. 30, 1924 in Galesburg, IL., the daughter of Lloyd B. and Evelyn (Darnell) Woolsey. Shirley was the loving mother of Craig (Jean) Wright of Metamora, IL. Shirley was a devoted grandmother of four grandchildren, Benjamin Wright of Columbus, Ohio; Sarah Wright of Chicago, Wes Brewster of Seneca, IL., and Holly Brewster of Metamora. She was the fond sister of Marilynn Gaisford of Galesburg, brother Ronald (Marilyn) Woolsey of Brookfield, WI, Gary Woolsey of Galesburg and sister-in-law Greta Woolsey. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nancy (Woolsey) Griffith, her brother Gene Woolsey and a brother-in-law, Charles M. Gaisford. Shirley graduated from Galesburg High School in 1942. Following high school she worked at Butler Manufacturing, Block & Kuhl?s and O.T. Johnson?s in Galesburg. She moved to Estes Park, Colorado in 1978 where she worked for Ricker Bartlett Pewter Studio for 20 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, the Rocky Mountains, feeding geese and her beloved dogs. Shirley will be greatly missed by many friends and family. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00am Saturday Feb. 9, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home in Galesburg with Rev. Phyllis Steer officiating. Visitation will be from 9am until service time at the funeral home. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
