Shirley Broyles

Shirley M. Broyles, 87, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Carle Health Methodist in Peoria.

She was born on June 17, 1936, in Peoria, a daughter of John and Amanda (Crook) Ernst. She married Robert Broyles on December 24, 1955. They were married for 50 years. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; and three sisters.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Charles "Bud" (Brenda) Broyles of Bellevue, Jerry (Tina) Broyles of Peoria and Kevin (Christine DuBois) Broyles of Goodfield; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She and her husband owned B&B Ambulance Service in Limestone Township for 25 years. She worked alongside him and her sons. She also worked as the cafeteria manager at Kingman Grade School for 34 years, before retiring in 2003.

A private graveside service will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. A Celebration of Life will be announced for a later date.
