WASHINGTON?Shirley A. Borders, 77, formerly of Washington, passed away at 9:45 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Snyder Village in Metamora. Shirley was born on January 12, 1936 to Gwin and Mabel Davis. She married Jack L. Borders on April 8, 1952 in Rector, Arkansas. Jack died on October 17, 1995 in Peoria. Among those surviving are her two children, Jeffery (Jan) Borders of Washington and Jennifer Borders of Washington; one brother, Gwin Davis, Jr. of Harrisburg, IL; one grandson, Zach (Colby) Borders and their daughter Elyse, all of Chicago and one granddaughter, Jordan Borders of Peoria. Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Maxine and three brothers, Donald, Doyle and Leon. Private graveside services will be held at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Mason-White Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Illinois Cancer Center.
