Shirley A. Bannan

Shirley A. Bannan, 85, of Morton, IL formerly of Washington, IL passed away at 12:02 AM Friday November 18, 2022 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria, IL.

She was born in rural Woodford County, IL, the daughter of the late Walter and Merna Wehrli DuBois. She married Raymond D Bannan on March 31, 1956, in Washburn, IL. He passed away on March 10, 1997.

Surviving are one son Don Bannan of Morton, IL, one daughter Sheryl (Mark) Reeves of Washington; four grandchildren Meagan Recker, Heather Rosenberg, Blake Reeves, and Ashley Bannan; and six great-grandchildren.

Shirley worked for many years at Washington State Bank. She was a long-time member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington, where she sang in the church choir. She enjoyed many things in her life and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of the Apostolic Christian Home in Morton and to the nursing staff at Unity Point Health Methodist including the SICU Unit for the kind and compassionate care shown to Shirley and her family.

Services will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Bob DeBolt will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour before her service also at the funeral home. The burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
