Sheryl McCree

Sheryl Ann McCree, 83, of Washington, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Carle Bromenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.

She was born on February 18, 1942, in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Rufus and Viola May Owens Troutt. She married Ralph W. McCree on September 2, 1962, in Edinburg, IL, and he passed away on May 20, 1985, in Peoria.

She is survived by her three children, John "Woody" McCree of Sarasota, FL, Kim (Dave) Anderson of Washington, IL, and Patrick (Jo) McCree of Bloomington, IL; her grandchildren, Ben (Sara) Anderson of Lima, OH, Nathan (Emily) Anderson of Columbus, OH, Zachary (Sarah) Anderson of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Sarah Beth Anderson of Toledo, OH, Emma Anderson of Washington, IL, Elise McCree of Peoria, IL, Sophie McCree and Aidan McCree, both of Bloomington, IL; and four great-grandchildren, all of whom were the great joys of her life. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Pansy (Gary) Chamness of Mt. Carmel, IL, and Bonnie (Mike) Scoffic of Eldorado, IL.

She worked as an audit aid for the Internal Revenue Service for many years. Later in life, she developed an abiding love of careful Bible study and a trust in the unconditional love of God for all people.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Her grandson Ben Anderson will officiate.
