Sheryl McCree

Sheryl A. McCree, 83, of Washington, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Carle Bromenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.

She was born on February 18, 1942, in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Rufus and Viola Owens Troutt. She married Ralph W. McCree on September 2, 1962, in Edinburg, IL, and he passed away on May 20, 1985, in Peoria.

Surviving are three children: John "Woody" McCree of Sarasota, FL, Kim (Dave) Anderson of Washington,, IL, and Patrick (Jo) McCree of Bloomington, IL. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who were one of the great joys of her life.

She worked as an Audit aid for the Internal Revenue Service. After the death of her husband, she developed an abiding love of careful Bible study and a trust in the unconditional love of God for all people.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Her grandson Ben Anderson will officiate.
