Sheryl "Sherry" Lathrop

Sheryl A. "Sherry" Lathrop, 75, of Washington, passed away at 12:47 pm, Sunday, July 25, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on July 1, 1946, in Toledo, IA, the daughter of Lester and Wayma Alexander Beck.  She married Carl E. Lathrop on July 25, 1965, in Toledo, IA.

Surviving are her husband, one son Matthew (Kirsten) Lathrop of Kankakee, IL two daughters Shannon (Michael) Henry of Brimfield, IL, and Morgan Lathrop of Washington.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren: two sisters, Ila Jean Bratton of South Altoona, IA, and LaVonne Cherveny of Toledo, IA.  Her parents, two brothers, one sister and one grandson preceded her in death.

Sherry was a homemaker, devoted housewife and mother, raising three children. She enjoyed gardening, painting, entertaining and hosting luncheons with her friends but especially enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings at their home.

Sherry loved her family, and most importantly, she loved her God and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She lived a full life where she honored her Lord daily in everything she did. Sherry will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence will be forever missed by her family.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A time to celebrate her life will be 11:30 am Monday, August 2, 2021, at Riverside Community Church, 207 NE Monroe St, in Peoria.
