Shawn C. Sarver

Shawn C. Sarver, 43, of Metamora, IL passed away at 3:35 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Eagle River, WI. He was born on February 7, 1974 in Peoria, IL to Virgil C. and Wanda M. (Litsey) Sarver, Jr. He married Jennifer L. Doty on May 22, 2004 in Peoria, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his children Madison Cain, Brodie Sarver, Dawson Sarver, and MJ Sarver all at home; mother Wanda (Dave Driscoll) Bean of Germantown Hills; father Virgil Sarver, Jr. of Steedman, MO; grandmother Martha Sarver of Galesburg, IL; sisters April Patek of Springfield, IL and Tracy (David) Yates of Webster Groves, MO; half-sister Nichole Pauly of Charleston, IL; mothers-in-law Mary Johnson of Punta Gorda, FL and Donna Doty of Bay View Gardens, IL; three sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; eight nephews; one niece; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by father-in-law Monty Doty, step-father Robert Logsdon, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandfather.

Shawn was a senior engineer specialist at Caterpillar. Shawn had many interests and passions. He loved golf, basketball, baseball, and football. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Fighting Illini, and all Metamora sports. He was a fan of anyone that his family members were competing for. Shawn loved the family Turkey Bowl and loved to referee basketball. He loved helping and coaching with MATBO and MYSA, and most importantly, loved the opportunity to coach his kids.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 2, 2018 at RiversEdge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay with Reverend Mike Fender officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 and also from 9:00 am until 9:45 am prior to his service on Friday all at the church. The family is asking people to wear St. Louis Cardinals, Metamora, or Illini colors to represent his love for those teams. Burial will be at Spring Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to a Memorial Fund for his children's college educations at any Heartland Bank location or mailed to Heartland Bank, P.O.
