Sharon K. Wilson

July 28, 1939 — February 13, 2024

Sharon Kay Wilson, 84, of Peoria, formerly of Washington, passed away at 2:12 am on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at her residence.

She was born on July 28, 1939, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Kreag Garnett Sandberg and Edna Lucille Sandberg. She married Larry Rhodell Wilson on October 17, 1959, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Larry passed away on May 16, 2017.

Sharon and Larry were married for 57 years. They have three children: Dawn Wilson of Washington, Illinois, Darren Wilson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Douglas Wilson of Peoria, Illinois. They also have six grandchildren: Alexander (Sarah) of Gypsum, Colorado, Spencer Wilson, Madison Wilson, and Dillon Wilson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Amanda (Jordan) Conner and Jordan Koehl of Washington, Illinois, as well as three great-grandchildren: Maverick and Arabella Wilson of Gypsum, Colorado, and Caston Conner of Washington, Illinois.

Sharon received her Bachelor of Education degree from Illinois State University. She was a devoted Christian and loving homemaker. After living in Switzerland for six years, Sharon became an avid skier. Sharon and Larry brought Jimmy John's to the Peoria area in 1997, owning three franchises in Peoria and two in North Carolina.

Sharon's greatest priorities were God, her family, and her friends. She was actively engaged in her family's lives, installing high morals and values and supportive encouragement to be the best they could be in all aspects. Sharon was a generous woman who supported her family's spiritual development and personal and professional endeavors. She had an infectious laugh and never met a stranger. She emanated her heart to everyone with loving kindness and never said no when she could help. Sharon's family is left with a legacy of honesty, compassion, tenderness, and love that she attributed to God. She will be missed dearly by everyone who was blessed by her acquaintance.

At the request of Sharon, cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Memories and condolences may be sent using www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
