Sharon Yvonne Stuffing, 75, of Peoria Heights, IL, a loving, creative, and adventurous woman, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, on April 11, 1948, the daughter of Harrell and Bernice Johnson Bridges.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, Maury Stuffing of Peoria Heights; her loving daughter, Sheila (Walt) Heathcoat of Elbert, CO; her three beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Levi, and Jessica; and her four cherished great-grandchildren, Zoey, Zander, Raven, and Lyla. She is also survived by her dear sister, Shirley Fowler of Peoria Heights. Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Bridges.
She was a woman of many interests, including quilting, photography, and bible study. She had a deep appreciation for all genres of music. Sharon was an avid collector of teapots. She also had a passion for watching hummingbirds and would spend hours observing their beauty and grace.
Sharon's adventurous spirit led her to enjoy camping vacations with her family, exploring the great outdoors and creating lasting memories. She had a particular fondness for the mountains, where she felt a sense of peace and tranquility. Sharon's love for nature and the world around her was evident in her photography, as she captured the beauty of her surroundings through her lens.
As a devoted wife, Sharon and Maury shared a strong bond built on love, trust, and mutual respect. They enjoyed many years of happiness together, supporting each other through life's challenges and celebrating their accomplishments. Sharon was a proud mother to Sheila, always encouraging her to pursue her dreams and providing her with unwavering love and support.
Sharon's love for her family extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She took great joy in watching them grow and develop into the remarkable individuals they are today. Sharon's nurturing nature and warm heart made her a beloved figure in their lives, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Sharon's intelligence and curiosity led her to engage in thoughtful conversations and explore new ideas. Her loving nature and kind spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered for years.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will cherish the time they spent with her and the love she shared with them. As they gather to celebrate her life, they will remember her as a loving, intelligent, and adventurous woman who made the world a better place.
