Scott J. “Mick” Tremper, 61, of Metamora, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL, surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 17, 1964 in Spring Valley, IL to Jack B. and Roma L. (Johnson) Tremper. He was baptized and then later confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Scott is survived by his devoted sister, Michele “Shelley” (Andy) Wiesenhofer of Athens, IL; brother, Mark (Melissa) Tremper of Bloomington, IL; his adoring nieces, Amanda Wiesenhofer of Springfield, IL, Ethanie Defoe of Howell, MI, and Rebekah Lindall (Jeffry) of Fort Mill, SC; and seven grand-nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his dear friends Lester Kline and Steve Petersen, and his beloved dog Miss Tess.
Scott was a 1983 graduate of Lowpoint-Washburn High School. He was a dedicated and loyal employee of Versa Press in East Peoria where he worked as an electronic prepress technician. He had recently been recognized for forty years of service with the company and will be greatly missed by his colleagues and friends there.
Scott enjoyed playing golf, pool, darts, and relaxing with his friends and family. He was a dedicated rider and aficionado of Harley Davidson motorcycles and was an avid, lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He loved music and especially loved any opportunity to see a live show. Throughout his life he accompanied his sister, brother-in-law, and nieces on many action-packed adventures across the United States. His quick, dry wit and incredible sense of humor will be sorely missed. Scott was a constant, quiet, and steady light in the lives of his family and friends. Although he is gone from this world, his light will live on in the memories and hearts of those that knew and loved him.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Richard A. Becker officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time, also at the funeral home. Burial of Ashes will be held in Riverview Cemetery in Streator, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control (donate online at https://www.friendsofscac.org/donate or mail a check to the following address: Friends of SCAC, P.O.
