Scott Alan Reynolds

Scott Alan Reynolds of Metamora, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the age of 67 years. He was born on November 19, 1958 to Ervin and Verlee (Boken) Reynolds in Peoria, IL.

He married the love of his life, Beth (Wood) Reynolds on April 30, 1983, and together they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage. Their years were filled with family, sports, laughter, love, and joy. Scott was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, referred to as "Pop Pop" by his grandchildren. He was a loyal friend and always loved a good chat.

Scott enjoyed a 30+ year career working in the service industry, where he spent the last 20 years of his career proudly serving as shop foreman at Oberlander Electric. Scott was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a member of the 1975 state football championship team for Metamora Township High School. He loved NASCAR and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and the Fighting Illini. He spent many years on the softball field and basketball court coaching and sharing his love for the game. Scott also loved being outdoors and enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, bird watching, feeding his squirrels and just being in nature. He took that passion and used it to serve in the role of President of Izaak Walton League of America Woodford County Chapter these past two years. Scott also loved to attend his church and was a part of the greeter/safety team and a board member.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Beth (Wood) Reynolds of Metamora, IL; and his children, McKenzie (Matt) Slama of Albertville, MN, Jordan (Jonathan) Bastian of Montgomery, IL, Weston (Kirstyn) Reynolds of Germantown Hills, IL, and Lawson Reynolds of Metamora. His life was filled with the laughter and love of all of his grandchildren, Mila Mae, Leighton, Mila Liz, Nolan, McCoy, Madden, and a new grandchild due in July of this year. He is also survived by one brother, Roger Reynolds; an aunt, Pat Hornack; and mother-in law, Elizabeth Wood, along with numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Verlee Reynolds, his brother, Gary Reynolds, his sisters Nancy Burr and Vicki Reynolds, and father-in-law William (Papa) Wood.

A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Metamora Christian Union Church with Pastor Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until time of service, also on Sunday at the church. Cremation rites will follow his service.
