Scott Lee Burns, 59, of Washington, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. Scott was born on November 15, 1964, in Peoria, a son of Robert and Beverly (Ashby) Burns. He married Kathleen "Kathy" Lightbody on May 17, 1991, in Pekin. She survives. He is also survived by his son, Joe Knollenberg of Washington; sister Sandy (Dave) Backes of East Peoria, IL; Uncle & Aunt Steve (Rose) Burns of The Villages, FL and Aunt Pamela Garant of Punta Gorda, FL; granddaughters, Ariana Horton, Alexis, Alyson, and Aubrey Knollenberg; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, his "favorite" father-in-law Harold & Ruth Lightbody of Metamora, IL; sister-in-laws Kelly, Shawn, Christine, and Theresa (Bruce) He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Lee Burns; and brother, Russ Burns. Scott was a driver for UPS for twenty years. He was a member of VVI Bunker in Sunnyland. He was known for his famous "Scootr B's Hot Sauce". He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and grilling out for his family and friends. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He was also a member of Riverside Community Church. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-7 p.m. on May 18, 2024 at the VVI Bunker in Sunnyland, Cremation rites have been accorded.
