Scott Bernius

Scott Bernius, 54, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 9:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

He was born on June 7, 1971, in Pampa, TX, to Robert D. and Mary L. (McClaugherty) Bernius. He married Beverly J. Leavitt on June 16, 2024 in Amarillo, TX.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly of Metamora; sister, Sherri Bernius of Amarillo, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and life-long friend, Terry Greeson of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Candi Vincent, and brothers, Bobby Bernius and Bradley Bernius, Sr.

Prior to moving to Metamora, Scott had resided in Amarillo, TX for 50 years. He obtained his CDL in 2009 and at the time of his death, he was working at Central Illinois Carriers. He loved truck driving! He enjoyed shooting pool, riding motorcycles, fishing, and playing the drums. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Pastor Bob DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service, also on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
