Scott Jeffrey Bell, 54, of Washington, IL went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 5th 2017. He is survived by his father Daniel E. Bell (Kay) of Gardner, IL, his siblings Brian D. Bell of Washington, IL, Danette Hadfield (Robert) his niece / nephew Madelynn and Logan Hadfield of Low Point, IL, his aunts / uncles Tom and Carol (Bell) Shelly of Excelsor, MN, Jeanne Johanson of Plainfield, IN, and 7 cousins and their families. He is preceded in death by his mom Bobette Bell and his grandparents Basil and Corrinne Bell of Deer Creek, Jack and Henrietta Furst of Peoria. Scott was born October 1st, 1962 in Peoria, IL. He grew up in Deer Creek, IL on the family farm and attended Deer Creek Grade School and Deer Creek - Mackinaw (Dee-Mack) High School Class of 1980. He then attended Illinois State University and graduated with a B. S. in Agricultural Business. While growing up he worked on the family farm and helped out with his Grampa Basil's BBQ business. After graduation, he worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services in Pekin, IL. Scott had active roles in local churches and ministries starting with leading various youth and young adult Christian groups. He managed the video, sound, and implemented internet streaming of his church's services. He produced 2 Christian music CDs w/ local area artists. He served as a leader in the last 2 churches he attended. Scott leaves a legacy of always helping others and giving selflessly of his time and talents especially to those less fortunate. He will be loved and remembered for his unique humor, his quick wit, quoting movie "one-liners", and his love for Star Trek. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 20th from 5:30 to 8:30 at the Kennel Lake Sportsmens Club in Morton, IL. There will be a potluck meal with a remembrance service starting at 7pm. Pls. bring a food or dish that reminds you of Scott. Casual dress is requested by Scott's family. A private burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. Flower arrangements are being provided by Two Friends Flowers, in Lacon IL. Memorial gifts can be made to the Heart Foundation, the Diabetes Association, or the Scott J Bell Ministry Fund. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Mason White Funeral Home, Washington, IL. and notes of condolences may be sent using www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
