Sandra Lee Norbits

Sandra L. Norbits, 74, of East Peoria, IL passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

She was born on March 28, 1950, in Litchfield, IL the daughter of Oscar and Norma Wegener Dalton.  She married Donald W. Norbits on October 13, 2006, in Peoria. She and Don had been in love since 1978. She had no children.

Surviving are her husband Don, one brother Dennis (Donna) Dalton of Galax, VA and Pamela Macari of Dawsonville, GA.  Her parents Oscar and Norma Dalton, one brother Curtis and one sister Laura Lewis and her husband David preceded her in death.

There are also nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and enjoyed sharing time with them. One of the things she most enjoyed was baking several different kinds of cookies at Christmas-time and making sure that each family member received their special tin in the mail. Another thing Sandy most enjoyed was visiting zoos and aquariums in several different cities anywhere she was able to go.

Sandy started her working career at Great Central Insurance at 18 years old where she worked for 10 years. After that she worked for Uniform Printing as an outside sales agent. Then she continued working in outside sales for several different companies. During her time in sales she earned several awards and made a multitude of cherished friends. She retired in December of 2021.

She was very active for 29 years in the Amethyst Group and coordinated events for them. She was voted by her peers as Amethyst Alumni of the year in 2004. During her 29 years in this group she made an impact on many people and treasured each and every friendship. Sandy was truly selfless and always put others needs before her own.
