Sally Sue Schierer, 79, of Yates City, IL, passed away at 10:08 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on December 26, 1943, in Peoria to John and Virgie Holford Wieda. She had two older brothers Tony and Jim.

Sally is survived by three children: Tammy (David) Neys of Edwards, Todd (Lisa) Rahn of Princeville, and Tracey (Joe) Giovani of Peoria. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Kayla, Nick, Brady, Taylor, Jordan (Derek), Maddisyn (Dustin), Kamryn, Katie, and Natalie: one great-grandson: Ridge; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Tony (MaryLu) Wieda, and infant grandson Robert Neys.

Her hobbies included baking, woodworking, writing, sewing, drawing, and crafts. She was very talented and had a great sense of humor. She was very generous and always gave to others. She enjoyed visiting and traveling with friends and family. Some of her fondest memories were spent with her children and grandchildren. She dearly loved her cat, Tori, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sally graduated from Dunlap High School in 1962. After High School was involved with Cursillo, Royal Youth, and 4H. She owned Traveling Trolley Tours, was a Massage Therapist, Motivational Speaker, and former member of Laborers Local 165. She retired to Mountain Home, AR, and recently moved back to central Illinois to be near family. She was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church in Yates City.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the American Legion Post 1078 in Dunlap. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carole Bruce, the BYE Ambulance Crew, Yates City Fire, and Police Department, and the staff at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for their love and care.
