Ruth Wilson, formerly of Washington, IL, died peacefully in York, SC on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. She was 88 years old.

Ruth was born in Detroit, MI on April 2, 1929 to Folkert (Bud) and Dorothy (Sutton) Broers. Ruth lived in Minonk, IL until she married Ted Wilson in 1953. He died in 1967.

Surviving are her children, Joel (Valerie) Wilson, Fred (Chris) Wilson of Clover, SC and Maria Wilson of Spartanburg, SC. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Nikki Wilson of Dublin, OH, Heather Bush of Cherokee Village, AR, Thadd (Kristan) Wilson, Kathryn Logue of Spartanburg, SC, Brittany Wilson, Taylor Wilson of Clemson, SC and Victoria Wilson of Clover, SC. Ruth had five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Zimmerman of LeRoy, IL and Jeanette Broers of East Peoria, IL. and brother-in-law, Allen (Debbie) Wilson of Michigan.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her twin sister, Margaret Elaine, who died in infancy and her grandson, Trevor Logue.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, attending church and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her famous potato salad was a favorite of many.

Ruth was a giver, a caretaker and her love for her family was beyond measure. She will be sorely missed by those that were blessed enough to love and be loved by her.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 18 at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Morton, IL.
