Ruth Ellen (Schneider) Beneventi

Ruth Ellen Beneventi, 88, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 1:53 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora.

She was born on February 10, 1936, in Mulberry Grove, IL, to Charles and Hannah (McIntyre) Schneider. She married Jerome F. "Jerry" Beneventi on January 19, 1957 at First Methodist Church in Peoria, IL. He passed away on July 2, 2017.

Surviving are her children, Brenda (Subbu) Varanasi of Des Moines, IA, Kimberly (Gordon) Woods of Nevada, IA, and Charles (Angela) Beneventi of East Peoria, IL; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Jonah Woods, brothers Charles Schneider and Edwin Schneider, and sister Shirley Randall.

Ruth had worked as a school bus driver for Peoria School District 150. She enjoyed crafts, working as a cook at Camp Manitoumi, canning, and sewing. Ruth was a member of Germantown Hills Baptist Church who loved her church and church family. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Ruth loved life!

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Germantown Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Carlson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Germantown Hills Baptist Church, 304 Schmitt Lane, Germantown Hills, IL 61548.
