Ruth M. Johns

WASHINGTON... Ruth M. Johns, 85, passed away peacefully at her home at 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Ruth was born on November 20, 1929 in Prospect, TN to Ingemar and Viola Griffin. She married T. J. Johns in Alabama on March 24, 1947, celebrating over 50 years of marriage prior to his death on May 1, 1997. Among those surviving are two daughters, Patricia Ziegele of Ft. Myers, FL and Tammy Chepan of Washington; one son, Jeffrey S. Johns of Washington; one sister, Betty Ann (Claude) Fox of Prospect, TN; one brother, Wendell Griffin of Prospect, TN; four granddaughters, Traci (Billy) Moses, Jenny (Lucas) Ebbing, Jodi Johns and Samantha Chepan and two great granddaughters, Madison and Olivia Ebbing. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert G. Johns and Timothy B. Johns. Ruth had worked at the Continental Regency in Peoria from 1982 to 1997. She was proud of raising five beautiful children and she lived for her family that she cared for deeply. A funeral service for Ruth will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Mason-White Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday.
