Ruth Elaine (Herington) Hofstatter

Ruth Elaine Hofstatter, 69, of Lowpoint, IL, passed away at 12:53 am on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at her residence. She was born on April 27, 1952, in Saginaw, MI, to John E. and Marla E. (Wascher) Herington. She married her high school sweetheart Alan Lee Hofstatter on February 27, 1971 in Lowpoint, IL.

Surviving are her husband, Alan of Lowpoint; four children, Kraig (Holly) Hofstatter of Lowpoint, Erin (Robert) Jones of Morton, Tyler (Hailey) Hofstatter and Alysa (Jonah) Martz both of Lowpoint; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Trent, Carter, Collin, Rylan, Braelyn, Trice, Gage, and Doss; mother, Marla Herington of Lowpoint; and siblings, Linda (Dave) Fitschen, Penny (Dave) Finley, and Tim (Kerry) Herington. She was preceded in death by her father, sister Janet Mangold, and brother James Herington.

Ruth was a teacher's aide at Lowpoint-Washburn High School, along with many other duties at the school, for over 20 years. She was a member of Lowpoint United Methodist Church and Washburn United Methodist Church. Ruth was also a 4H Leader for over 30 years.

Graveside Services will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Buckingham Cemetery in Lowpoint with Pastor Will Meachum officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Washburn United Methodist Church, 502 North Jefferson Street, Washburn, IL 61570 or to the Lowpoint-Washburn High School Athletic Boosters, 508 East Walnut Street, Washburn, IL 61570.
