Ruth B. Gentry

Ruth B. Gentry age 84 of Snyder Village in Metamora, Illinois formerly of Phoenix, Arizona passed away at 7:30pm Tuesday Dec. 13, 2011 at Snyder Village. She was born Sept. 26, 1927 in Hazard, Kentucky to Bert A. (Elizabeth) Brown. She married James E. Gentry on June 18, 1948 in Chattanooga, TN, he passed away in 2009. Surviving is one daughter Linda (Loren) Wilmot of Germantown Hills, IL., two grandchildren David L. (Stacey) Combs, and Greg S. Combs both of Peoria and two great grandchildren, Kaylee Ruth Combs and Dylan Robert Combs. She is also survived by two sisters Betty Roberson of Chattanooga, TN, and Barbara Thurman of Wilmington, Delaware. She was preceded in death by one son James E. Gentry Jr.. Ruth had worked for Hamburgers and Mullins Boutique in Wilmington, Delaware for 17 years and attended Bradley ? Epworth United Methodist Church in Peoria. Ruth loved to travel and had a gift for Hospitality, she was a loving, caring, and giving person and her family were her life. A Memorial service will be at 4:30pm Sunday Dec. 18, 2011 at Bradley ? Epworth United Methodist Church in Peoria with Rev. Tom Eckhardt and Rev. Gene Colthurst officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Snyder Village.
