Ruth C. Garber, 83, of Metamora, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 11:08 am at her residence. She was born on December 29, 1930 to Herman and Emma (Koenig) Rohman in Metamora. She married Robert L. Garber on September 29, 1951 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora. He survives. Also surviving are her children Connie (Gene) Grebner and Brent (Joan) Garber, both of Metamora, Steve Garber of Marshalltown, IA and Jenifer Garber of Quincy, IL; daughter-in-law Cindy Garber-Blake of Germantown Hills; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters Hilda (Don) Harbers of Metamora, Pat Quiram of Princeton and Dorothy Wisenberger of Morton; brother Richard Rohman of Metamora; and sister-in-law Lorraine Rohman of Metamora. She was preceded in death by her parents, son James Garber, sister Betty Nauman and brothers Herman Rohman, Jr., Robert Rohman, and Frank Rohman. Ruth was a bank teller in Metamora for many years and also a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora. Funeral Mass for Ruth will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Metamora with Father Neri Greskoviak officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded after the funeral mass with burial of ashes at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Metamora at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Mary?s School.
