Russell E. Draggist

Russell E. Draggist, 87, of Spring Bay, IL, passed away at 5:52 pm on Monday, May 24, 2021 at his residence. He was born on November 7, 1933 in Partridge Township, Woodford County, IL, to James and Clara (Poignant) Draggist. He married Nancy J. Foster on November 16, 1956 in Peoria, IL.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy of Spring Bay; daughters, Mary (Michael) Sandidge and Marjorie Jenkins both of Spring Bay; grandchildren, Victoria Atherton, Danell (Andrew) Tills, Dustin Draggist, and Bryce Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Kaylyn and Brody Atherton; and sister, Dorothy Smith of Sommerville, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, and son-in-law Danny Jenkins.

Russell was a U.S. Army Veteran serving at the end of the Korean War. He worked for Hiram Walker for 29 ½ years and then was a highway maintainer for Illinois Department of Transportation for nine years prior to his retirement. Russell was a member of RiversEdge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay. He enjoyed ducking hunting and watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Reverend Binu Peniel officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery.
