Ruby Faye Kennell

Ruby Faye Kennell, 92, of Roanoke, IL passed away at 9:55 am on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke. She was born on December 8, 1923 in Roanoke, IL to Joseph D. and Freida V. (Ulrich) Kennell. Surviving are her siblings Verda (Everett) Birkey and Robert (Evelyn) Kennell both of Roanoke; brother-in-law Richard Zoss of Washburn; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Nellie Zoss, brother Glen Kennell, and sister Mable Kennell. Ruby was a member of Linn-Mennonite Church in Roanoke. She had worked at Metamora Abattoir, Eureka Vacuum, General Electric in Bloomington-Normal, and Metamora Woodworking for over 50 years, retiring from there. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:00 am at Linn-Mennonite Church in Roanoke with Steve Ulrich officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also one hour prior to services at the church.
