WASHINGTON-Ruby Lee Habel, 85, of Washington passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her residence.
She was born February 24, 1932, in Asheville, NC daughter of Jason "Rufus" and Vonnie Lee Hudson Arrowood. She married Paul E. Habel on December 29, 1956, in Ashville, NC. He passed away on October 9, 2016, in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one brother Larry Arrowood.
Surviving are two children Scott Habel of Chicago and Paula (Brent) Ringland of Washington. Also surviving is one granddaughter Madison Ringland of Washington.
Ruby retired from Key industries Inc. in East Peoria where she worked as an accountant. She attended Crossroads United Methodist Church and had a deep faith for her Lord. Ruby was an accomplished pianist and had a love of all music. She had many enjoyments in life including baking cookies, sewing and visiting her neighbors. Ruby had a love for her family and cherished every moment she could spend with them and especially her only granddaughter.
Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington with Pastor Dan Doty officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2017, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Additional visitation will be one-hour prior to her service at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to Susan G Komen for the Cure or to Illinois Cancer Care.
